Introduction
There are a number of steps required to set up your shipping configuration.
First, navigate to the "Shipping setup" section, which can be found under the "E-Commerce Administration" title in the left-hand navigation.
Packages
If this is not the first time you are setting up your shipping you may not need to modify your packaging.
Click on the "Packaging" tab, then press the plus icon (titled "Add new package"), which will load the package edit form.
First fill in a name for your package, such as envelope, small parcel, etc.
The second field, "Package units" is used in conjunction with your product units (see What are shipping units?) and defines the maximum number of units that this package can contain.
When you have decided on the correct unit number, press the OK button to save your package.
Do this as many times as you need - once for each of the different packages that you can ship your products in.
Zones
To add a new shipping zone, go to the "Zones and couriers" tab and click on the plus icon above the listing, then select a zone in the fields that appear. To do this, first select a continent, and then optionally a country from within that continent.
When you're done, press the OK button and the zone will be added to the listing below.
Couriers
To manage your couriers for a zone, press the "Edit couriers" link to the right hand side of a zone panel and a new listing will appear. There may or may not be couriers already in this listing depending on whether this zone has previously been set up.
Press the plus icon at the top to add a new courier to this zone, or the "Edit courier" link on one of the existing couriers and a form will load.
In this form, enter a name for your courier, such as "Royal Mail", "Citylink", etc and optionally a website URL and tracking URL.
The next field, "Price override" should be set to a value in currency if you charge the same amount to ship with this courier regardless of the size of the consignment or package that the product(s) are shipping in. If the price is dependant on shipping units (eg. size or weight), leave this field blank.
The next option allows you to configure whether or not this courier is selectable in your checkout. This option should be set to yes unless you are wishing to disable this courier without actually deleting it from the system.
Packages per courier
The next set of fields on the courier form allow you to define the prices to ship each of your previously defined packages. The packages themselves will be automatically listed, so simply enter the amount that you charge for each of your packages to ship with this courier.
When you're done, press the OK button to save your courier.
All of the above steps can be repeated as many times as you need to setup all of your shipping zones, packages and couriers.
