About: New in LabelEd 3.3

LabelEd 3.3 has now gone live so we thought we'd take some time to highlight some of the new features and improvements.

New pricing systems

In 3.2.8 and below, product prices are based on a single base value, with variations applying negative or positive differences. In 3.3, we've improved the UI for managing variations and added new pricing tier and pricing break systems.

Pricing tiers allow you to set different base prices for different subsets of your users. So, for example, you could set up a product with a base price of £20 for all users, with an additional tier for users in a "Business customers" group with a base price of £18.

In addition, for each tier, you can set up any number of pricing breaks which allow you to offer volume discounts. For example, you may choose to discount £1 per unit when a customer buys 10 or more.
These discounts apply immediately in a customer's shopping basket, and if you wish, we can configure your site's product pages to display a table of pricing break information so that they can see what discounts they would receive for buying in bulk.

Product user prompts

Users prompts provide a means for you to collect arbitrary data from customers prior to them adding items to their basket. Prompts come in 4 flavours; short and long text inputs and file or image uploads. You simply pose a question, choose the type of data you expect from the customer and tick the required box depending on whether or not you want to make the prompt mandatory.

Prompts UI

This feature allows you to offer customised products, such as asking for a name to be embroidered on a piece of clothing, or prompting for the customer to provide an image to be printed on canvas.

Larger file uploads

LabelEd 3.3 supports much larger file uploads. The existing 4MB limit still applies for certain asset types such as web images, however we can now provide media storage for files and videos up to 100MB in size which will be saved on Amazon's S3 storage platform.

We've also improved the administration interface which now provides upload status information.

Upload progress UI

Version 3.3 has now been rolled out across all existing sites. There are various other updates and UI improvements in this version which can be found in the detailed changelogs.
