23/03/09: LabelEd 3.2.0 release candidate 1 is now up and running for all clients with pre-release websites in client QA.
Changes since LabelEd 3.1.1
Multi language support
LabelEd now supports multiple language content for most resource types, including items, products, collections and content managed pages. Content in any given language can be created, enabled and disabled on a per-resource level. Languaged content is also revisioned seperately.
Multi language features include:
- Resource level languaging
- Language specific revisioning
- Enable and disable content in seperate languages
- Multi currency support
- Language sites can be loaded on the front end by means of an iso 2 letter country code, ie. /fr, /de, etc.
Revisions and roll backs
- Added new revision panel which allows you to view older versions of a piece of content
- Revision rollback support
- Added optional revision comments
Content management
- New page level content management
- Longstring item properties and content managed regions can now be formatted using Markdown syntax
Galleries
- New gallery item type, allowing for multiple images or other pieces of content to be grouped together into a gallery
File, image and gallery management
- New add and edit UIs for files, images and galleries
- Revisioning and languaging added to assets, meaning updated versions or multi language versions of assets can be saved
Collections/categories
- Collections and categories are now edited using a new form UI instead of inline name editing
- Collections now support languaging and revisioning
- Collections now support attached asset resources (images, files, etc)
UI improvements
- User and group listings now sort in a logical order; awaiting activation, active alphabetical, followed by deactivated
- Grouped admin sidenav sections into associated tasks
- Added new tips dashboard widget
- Added new admin activity dashboard widget
- Removed admin info panel and replaced with news and updates dashboard widget
- Added password strength indicator to admin user password UI
- Added support for internal or external urls to be assigned to assets which are attached to resources
- Item properties now display in a more logical order in the admin edit form
Performance improvements
- Improved cache engine performance
- Improved cache cleanup to improve server performance
- Improved collection item loading performance
Module changes
- Search module can now operate without a query if other criteria and filters are applied
- Search module can now display attached assets for item results
Bug fixes
- Continue editing option after saving an item should now function correctly
- Resource cache now rebuilds after making group changes
- Fixed issue with certain user types changing during checkout
- Cache now rebuilds after removing an item from a collection
- Fixed html entity encoding issue
- IEcheck JS library improvements (so it doesn't trigger on IE8 :-p)
Miscellaneous
- Site sections can now be nested, which gives more flexibility to front-end structure design
- Collection browsing and item views can now be nested, which allows us to auto build complicated front-end breadcrumbs
- Improved admin permissions system, bringing inline with the system-wide permissions implementation
- Improved password hashing security. Note that there were no problems or security issues with the previous hashing algorithm, but more security can never be a bad thing. ;-)
